On 24 May 2026 at the Wankdorf in Bern: green and white as far as the eye could see. 3–0 against Stade Lausanne-Ouchy. FC St. Gallen were crowned Swiss Cup winners – for the first time in 57 years.

And at TTS Transport & Terminal Services AG in Buchs SG? Something was missing in that moment. The fan corner was on the bench.

In this article, you will find out why green and white has been part of our daily office life for years, what a water leak did to our fan corner, and why deciding which memorabilia made the cut was nearly harder than clearing customs during peak season. Nearly.

Green and White in the Logistics Office – No Coincidence

TTS is based in Buchs SG, in the heart of eastern Switzerland. For over 25 years, we have been organising shipments by rail, road, air and sea from here – from Switzerland to China and back. We are part of the internationally active TransInvest Group, with 121 companies in 43 countries.

And green and white has been part of the furniture for years. An FCSG fan corner that has grown over many seasons. Shirts, scarves and photos – every piece tells a story.

Anyone who visits us and sees the fan corner knows: the people here are passionate about what they do – on the football pitch and when organising a China Express shipment. That is no coincidence. That is attitude.

Then Came the Renovation – and the Water

What throws a fan corner off balance? For FCSG, it was Watkowiak’s red card in the cup final. For TTS, it was the neighbours’ building works.

They were renovating – and water started running down the walls. Our walls. Right by our fan corner. So it was a case of rescuing the memorabilia, cordoning off the corner and starting from scratch.

In logistics, we call that an unforeseen situation. The response: Plan B. Quick, calm and pragmatic. Exactly what we do every day for our clients – this time for ourselves. And as with FCSG in the cup final: being a man down does not mean you cannot win.

The Question of All Questions: What Goes in the New Corner?

The collection had grown over the years. Shirts from different seasons, scarves from different decades, footballs, photos – and the space: limited.

So the line-up was analysed, discussed and decided. The result is a carefully chosen selection worthy of a cup-winning club – in our opinion, at least. Das Ergebnis ist eine sorgfältige Auswahl eines Cupsiegervereins würdig – finden wir zumindest.

What a Fan Corner – Better Than Ever

The new fan corner is more than a comeback. It is an upgrade. Room for the moments that matter, with proper respect for 25+ years of fan passion.

The FCSG won the Cup in late May. The TTS fan corner was ready in mid-June. The celebration came slightly later than planned – but all the more fittingly. Because that is how we do things at TTS. What gets broken is rebuilt better than it was before. That applies to transport solutions under time pressure – and to fan corners after a neighbour’s water leak.

An interview of our group, Transinvest, with our Managing Director, Daniel Niederhauser.

Buchs, Switzerland. Top motivated and extremely loyal employees who enjoy working together as a team, that is the secret behind the positive development of TTS Buchs in 2022, says Managing Director Daniel Niederhauser, who has headed the company since its foundation. The Corona years had had a very negative impact on business development; short-time work at customers, production reductions and quality losses at partners and at railroads, in addition to closures of transport routes and lack of resources (lack of railroad personnel as well as lack of hardware such as locomotives, etc.) led to a profound reduction in the range of services. This is now over; the excellent results generated in 2022 clearly show an upturn.

Contributing to the growth was not only the resumption of production and trade at customers after the pandemic, but also new routes and increased volumes of FCL & LCL shipments to and from China for Swiss customers. “We have also been able to regain customers and shipments in Central Asia,” says Daniel Niederhauser. “That’s where sustainable thinking, race-to-zero, plays a role: rail shipments are more environmentally friendly than shipments by road. In part, the increased demand for rail transport is also due to the massive increase in freight costs for other modes of transport in 2022.”

The customer base includes Swiss retail customers, production companies in the pulp & paper sector, the chemical and textile machinery industries, and manufacturers of household appliances. “Long-term orientation is important here,” Niederhauser says. “For some customers with production in Switzerland, we can carry out imports of raw materials and exports of finished goods by rail. This has been working optimally for decades and has even been increased after the Corona measures ended.”

With very good support from the accounting team in St. Gallen, the increased demands on the team associated with the increase in sales were well managed, he says. And he concludes with a word of praise: “None of this is feasible without a team that pulls together. Our employees put in an outstanding performance in 2022.”

TTS Buchs – brief info

Transport und Terminal Services AG in Buchs/SG was founded in 1999; the company organizes transports in the Eurasian region for Swiss customers and specializes in rail solutions and combined transport. (By the way, the animated website – www.transterminal.ch – shows very vividly, and also with wit, how things work at a large container terminal).

A team of twelve specialists takes care of the four divisions of the service portfolio: conventional rail transports, intermodal solutions, project transports, and the special offer Drago with FCL and LCL transports to and from China.
